We all know the New Zealand sun is unforgiving, but it can be hard to remember the dangers when you can’t see them. In a partnership with Melanoma NZ, we wanted to expose the risks the New Zealand sun poses by having billboard sites display a ‘live skin burn’, which accurately reflects skin that has been exposed to that UV level throughout the day. By syncing up to the official UV index, we will be able to show Kiwis exactly how at-risk they are at any given time.
Pandemics, riots, financial crisis; the news is pretty gloomy. Radio Hauraki used this as an opportunity to talk about lighter topics. With a direct feed from the studio to LUMO’s billboards the producers could target their key market with live sound bites during 6-10am each morning. With bold font and short quirky headlines Radio Hauraki could update multiple billboards using a xml feed across all key inbound screens.
Increasing fuel prices is a big problem for us Kiwis, especially for those living in Auckland. Whenever we see a fuel price board we can’t help but look at it and hope it hasn’t gone up. So running off this behaviour, let’s turn Lumo billboards into live fuel boards to grab the attention of those who still use fuel. We’ll then offer them up a solution. A solution that will not only save them money, but the environment too - the new Volkswagon e-Golf.
We want to emphasise how close the NZSki Ski Fields are for most New Zealanders. Utilising data from IATA, MetService, Google Maps and NZSkis database of available rentals; we will paint a clear picture of how quickly a commuter is from being on the slopes from exactly where they are. We will show them how long it will take to get to the closest airport, the next available flight, the transfer times and available ski hire prices. All as one snap shot to inspire them to book their next ski-cation on a NZ Ski mountain.
AMI insurance have a new creative platform based around kindness. This OOH campaign connects with city peak hour travel time data to create live time relevant messages to encourage drivers to show kindness in the traffic.
LIFE NEEDS MORE SPORT is Sky Sport’s mantra. So we’ll bring it to one of life’s mundane rituals - driving to work. For two weeks, every-time a commuter passes one of our LUMO billboards their number plate will be logged and a point will be awarded. The prize? A personal chauffeur for a week.
It takes about 63,072,000 seconds (that’s two years) for a block of Mainland Vintage Cheese to reach its perfect flavour. This poster is a simple message that counts down the seconds using the 8 second time slots and some simple subtraction. Over the course of a week the headline would change hundreds of times in increments of 8. It won’t be a dramatically fast countdown, but good things take time.
A well-placed billboard will pick up all cars leaving, and arriving back from test drives. A camera mounted on the billboard scans the license plates of approaching vehicles and cross-references those plates with carjam.co.nz’s public database. If the car is for sale, and is a selected competitor, the appropriate creative will be displayed and hopefully the person test driving the competitor’s car will consider adding a Skoda to their test drive list.
A Lotto Powerball win could be your ticket out of everyday inconveniences. You wouldn’t have to sit in peak hour traffic because you wouldn’t have to work. You could jet off to the Bahamas whenever the weather is bad at home. So let’s pull live traffic and weather data onto Lumo billboards to target commuters and get them to imagine.
